A Hot Tub Is The One Thing You Should Not Take On Alone

Most people try. They watch a video, drain the tub, borrow a reciprocating saw, and lose a weekend to it. The tub is only half the problem. The other half is what to do with the pile once it is in pieces.

Our crew does this every week. We bring the saws, the manpower and a 15-cubic-yard truck, and the whole thing is done and gone in one visit.

  • It is heavier than it looksA drained mid-size spa still runs several hundred pounds of acrylic, foam and framing, with nothing on it shaped like a handle.
  • Wiring and water linesMost tubs are hard-wired at 240 volts, and the plumbing and heater hold water long after you think it is empty.
  • It has to come out in sectionsFenced yards, gates and patios rarely give you a straight path, so the tub gets cut apart where it sits. Cut fiberglass throws sharp edges and dust.
  • The debris is the real jobA cut-up tub, its cover, skirting and base fill a pickup several times over. That is a full day of dump runs and tipping fees.
  • Nobody takes it at the curbMunicipal bulk pickup will not take spa material. It has to go to an approved facility, through a certified hauler.

"Highly recommend DJ's Junk Removal! Christian and Tyler did an awesome job helping us clear out a large amount of debris from a pool and pool deck demolition, along with a bunch of other junk we needed removed. They were professional, efficient, and made the entire process incredibly easy. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and they showed up ready to get the job done. On top of that, the pricing was excellent—especially considering how much material they hauled away. Christian and Tyler were great to work with, and we'll definitely be using DJ's Junk Removal again for any future cleanouts or projects. Great service, great pricing, and a great crew. 10/10 recommend!"

"I called DJs to remove an old Billiards table that was taking up space. Their price and responsiveness more than beat the competition. Their employees were friendly and fast with the removal, showed up on time and cleaned up the area when they were done. It was a no brainer to recommend them to my friend who needed to get rid of furniture and was getting nowhere with other junk removal services. They scheduled her quickly and she is relieved!"

"Made arrangements with the team to pick up a piano. I received text messages confirming the scheduled time. I also had a pick up timing question, and they promptly returned my call. The team easily removed the piano taking less than 15 minutes. It was a pleasure working with DJ's and I will use them again."

"Great company. Very quick with a quote and an appointment date at an extremely reasonable price. Roberto and Nikolay were fast, efficient and polite. Would highly recommend and would absolutely use again. Thank you so much for getting that huge, rusting hulk of an elliptical out of my son's room."

What Comes Out With It

Not Just The Tub. Everything Around It.

The common complaint about hot tub removal is a crew that takes the shell and leaves you with the base, the steps and a yard full of cut panels. That is not a removal. That is half a job.

We clear the whole footprint. When the truck pulls away, what is left is a flat, swept space you can actually use.

  • The tub itself. Shell, cover, cabinet panels, skirting and trim.
  • The mechanical side. Pumps, heaters, motors, jets, filters, control panels, hoses and plumbing lines.
  • What it was sitting on. Wood framing, support bases, platforms, steps and small deck sections.
  • Every piece of debris. Cut sections, broken panels, scrap wood and loose hardware, plus any nearby yard junk you want gone while we are there.

How Pricing Works

What Actually Moves The Price Of A Hot Tub

Nobody can quote a spa sight unseen, and anyone who does is guessing. Here is exactly what we look at. Describe it on the phone and we will give you a real number, then confirm it on site before we touch anything.

Hot Tub Questions

The Six Things Everyone Asks Us

Access, in-ground units, disconnection, debris and how the price is put together.

Can you get it out of a fenced or tight backyard?
Yes, and that is most of the jobs we do. Fenced yards, narrow side paths, raised decks and patios. When the gap is too narrow to roll the tub out, we cut it into sections where it sits and carry the pieces out by hand. Your fence stays where it is.
Can you remove an in-ground hot tub?
Yes. How we approach it depends on how the unit was installed and what surrounds it. Tell us about the deck, patio or enclosure when you call so we can review the job properly before we arrive rather than discovering it on the day.
Do I need to disconnect it first?
The tub should be disconnected from power and water before we start. If you are not sure what has already been shut off, or who did it, tell us when you reach out and we will talk through the setup with you.
Will you damage my deck, patio or lawn?
Working around what stays is the whole skill. We plan the cut and the carry path around your fencing, patio, decking and landscaping, and we are fully licensed and insured. Our reviews mention this often, including a job between two fences with a neighbor's shed inches away.
Do you take all the debris, or just the tub?
All of it. The shell, cover, panels, pumps, motors, framing, steps and every cut piece leaves in our truck. If there is other junk in the yard you want gone at the same time, that is usually the cheapest moment to deal with it.
How long does the whole thing take?
Most hot tub removals are done in a single visit. Size, access and whether the unit needs to be cut apart decide whether that is a couple of hours or most of the day. Either way, we do not leave a partial job behind for a second trip.
